It's Good To Be Back!

Hello Again!  It's me.... back from a very long blog break.  I did my best to visit your blogs when I could, I've missed you all!  So much has happened over the Summer (and now into Fall), but here is the story in a nutshell:

After a busy Winter and Spring spent settling into our new home in Chesapeake, I decided to take a few weeks off to enjoy Summer break with my kids.... who are growing up way too fast!  Well, a few weeks turned into a few more... and then a few more... and before I knew it, several months had passed.  Shame on me!  But I have no regrets; I spent lots of quality time with my kids.  We spent many lazy afternoons at our favorite beach.....

Made a trip back home to Arizona to visit friends and family:

Came home and spent lots of time touring our sleepy little town (but apparently, not taking many pictures):

As well as parts of Virginia that we have always wanted to see:

Cape Charles

Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown

Washington D.C.

Before we knew it, it was time for my kiddos to start back to school.  My daughter started High School, and my son started Middle School.  As if that wasn't enough excitement for us, Mr. RX learned of a job opening back home in Arizona and we spent a lot of time and energy debating the pros and cons of moving back.  As much as we all enjoyed Chesapeake and all that it had to offer, we felt that it would be in the best interest of our family to make the move.  Yep.  You heard me right.  The second cross-country move in less than a year.  Four days of driving and 2500 miles later, we are finally back home.  It was definitely the right choice, we are all so much happier and have enjoyed catching up with friends and family.
So... now that I have had a little time to catch my breath, I'm ready to get back to blogging.  Honestly, it has been even harder to come back after such a long hiatus than it was to start my blog in the first place!  Have any of you experienced this?  I think that in my case, I have no more illusions of the time and energy commitment needed to run a blog.  I had to be sure I was ready and willing before I could jump back in.  But now I'm ready.  I think.  I think I'm ready.
At any rate, I'm happy to be home and back to blogging.  I hope you will continue to check in on me from time to time, I appreciate each and every one of you!

Have a wonderful weekend, see you soon!

  2. It's so nice to have you back, Amy! It sounds like you have been very, very busy. You are wise to spend the time with your children while you can, they grow up so fast! I can't wait to see what creative things you have come up with for your new home.
